The stainless steel bucket for this public project is a self- filling illusion of an endless supply of water. A fountain that never stops, a well that never dries and the hope of plenty.
This work talks about the wastage and usage of water that has become a subject of universal concern. The truth that Delhi will become a dry desert haunts us as we watch the city in summers and watch the ground water levels shrink by the year.
Way back to the days when I used to fill my bucket to bathe is a memory of how I have used water but for many this is still a daily reality and curse with queues at a water tanker that has leaked half its contents on the road itself.
The taps that go unchecked all over the city and the leaking pipes. We still don’t believe that it will happen to us.
