Artists for Artists Grant

Khoj is pleased to announce the open call for the inaugural edition of the Artists for Artists grant, to be awarded to a young artist working with material practice.

This edition of the grant will be supported by Subodh Gupta and Bharti Kher, founding and current board members of Khoj. Both Gupta and Kher began their journeys as young artists with the Khoj International Workshop when little support existed in the region. This grant extends from this understanding of the need for support to imagine and create; and with Gupta and Kher’s commitment to innovation and experimentation put forward by artists.

Khoj proudly announces the Open Call for the inaugural Artists for Artists grant open to young artists working with any material including but not limited to sculpture, installation, artist’s books, painting and video. The grant will offer production support of INR 2,00,000 (before taxes) along with an exhibition at Khoj in early May 2019.

Khoj continues to expand the possibilities for art making in the region and the increasing need to support young artists demonstrating innovation and excellence in artistic practice by encouraging risk and experimentation. This programme focuses on supporting artists in their individual attempts to realise an ongoing body of work.
