Position: Research Associate

Remuneration: 30,000-35,000 INR based on previous experience

The Museum of Art and Photography (MAP) is looking to recruit a team of researchers to work
on a major new research project on Indian Art.
MAP is a dynamic and ambitious organisation committed to building and sustaining a new
museum of international standards in south India. Education in art and culture is one of MAP’s

Interested applicants must share MAP’s vision of encouraging and fostering new academic
research and improving access and understanding for the visual arts in India, with a key focus
on inclusively building new audiences.

Required Competencies
We invite applications from candidates who
• Hold a Master’s degree or are pursuing a PhD in the Humanities
• Have a strong interest in art, textile, handicrafts, photography etc.
• Have an excellent command over spoken and written (compositional) English
• Have at least a year of research and writing experience (preferred)
• Are proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Applicants must be proactive, driven, able to adhere to deadlines and work seamlessly across

will then be presented with a small writing task to complete, based on which the final selection
will be made.
