Khoj International Artists’ Association invites applications for a Fellow to work with the Programme & Curatorial team for a period of 6 months, beginning in November 2021. 

The Fellowship at Khoj is a full – time position (5 days a week) and is a serious opportunity for aspiring art managers and curators to work with the Khoj programme team.

Responsibilities of the Khoj Fellow include assisting the Programme & Curatorial team with the following: 

1) Research, planning and facilitation of upcoming and ongoing residencies and projects

2) Working with the Khoj Program team, artists and partners to support and coordinate artist projects, large-scale temporary exhibitions, live events, and public programs. This includes exhibition-making, installation and fabrication, as well as scouting sites for public art projects. 

3) Organizational and administrative work.

4) Development of Khoj publications, such as Khoj Khabar as well as project-specific publications.

Fellows are encouraged to develop an independent project or path within the scope of Khoj’s activities and programs. Project areas can include publication, public programming, community based projects, art education, archiving, curatorial, marketing, etc.

We welcome applicants from all professional backgrounds and training, as long as they have a serious interest in the arts and are dedicated to learning. It will be an added bonus if the applicant shows demonstrable interest in ecology, gender,  socially-engaged art, the digital and  other thematics aligning with Khoj’s recent programmes. 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

-Able to deliver on assigned deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment and working within a small, multi-tasking team.

-An understanding of and interest in conceptually-driven, socially-engaged, public art projects and South Asian contemporary art

-Ability to liaison and work with a variety of stakeholders

-Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

-Knowledge of Google Sketch-up, CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus

-An exceptional eye.

-Ability to work flexible hours—including evenings and occasional weekends

-Ability to travel for work, as needed

-Any previous work experience in art practice, art history, museum studies or related fields would be a plus.

Application Details

-Indian and International applicants are welcome to apply (Please note: Khoj is not able to assist with the procurement of Visas for International applications).

-Fellows will receive a stipend to support local travel and food. Khoj does not support travel or boarding for Fellows or Interns.

-This is a full-time position from Monday – Friday. Khoj Fellows will be expected to participate in all Public Events (Openings, Talks, Workshops, Khirkee based events), which will typically take place during the evenings or on Saturdays.
