Khoj invites applications from individuals, groups and teams, Indian and international, with proposals for gaming projects exploring the game-world and its experience from different perspectives. At least one of the team members must be an Indian citizen living in India. We seek proposals that look at gaming as an art practice or explore artistic expressions within games. We are looking at proposals towards producing a game prototype at the end of the residency.
Five practitioners or groups will be selected for a six week residency at Khoj from 19th August to 27th September. Participants will be residing in Khoj to develop their projects and take part in various public engagement programs that will be structured by Khoj. There will be mentors who will support the participants in various aspects of their project.
Gaming (like movies) is a team activity with design, computer science, visual art, storytelling, architecture and system design inputs coming together to make a game. Artists, gamers, developers, designers can apply either individually or as a group/team. However, Khoj can only support upto two people from a team if invited for the residency. If an individual practitioner is invited, Khoj will put them in touch professionals who can help in different aspects of the project till its completion.
