The Creative India Residency is a research based residency that aims to support new approaches to and interests in the practice of sculpture in the broadest sense. This residency is open to emerging and mid-career established artists living and working in India. The selected artist should be able to engage discursively and speculatively with Gasworks’ environments and London’s wider artistic and cultural context.
The applicants are NOT required to have experience in working within the tradition of sculpture. However, they should have an interest in engaging with the medium and exploring its role and possibilities within the wider context of contemporary art practice. They could, for instance, be interested in researching or responding to an artwork in the public space.
