1. The applicant must be a young emerging artist.
2. The applicant may be a recent graduate/post-graduate or a final year student from a leading Indian institute for visual arts in India. No student of a first year master’s programme will be considered.
3. Those born on or after 1st January 1994 are eligible to apply.
4. The recipient should not be holding a similar/ government scholarship or award during the same tenure.
5. If the candidate has applied for the award earlier, he/she must submit a new body of work if they re-apply.
6. In the case of an applicant not having a formal degree in the visual arts, it is desirable that he/she would have participated in organized art exhibitions.
7. The applicant for this award must be an Indian passport holder, currently resident in India.

1. The selection procedure consists desk screening of applications followed by an interview of the shortlisted applicants.
2. The candidates shortlisted for the interviews will be informed by the last week of October 2024. 
3.  The final interviews will be held online in the first week of November 2024.
