About the Project DANCE UNION
Gati recognises that in order to facilitate a real and lasting impact on the dance environment in India, it is imperative to redesign existing institutions, infrastructure and government policy for dance. Dance Union, seeks to place the dance community, as primary stakeholders, at the centre of an initiative to imagine, advocate for and realise this change. Through Dance Union dancers aim not only to articulate their needs as a community, but also to initiate projects that create shifts in their environment, and mobilise a variety of stakeholders, including the government, to join them.

KEY AREAS RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is created to facilitate community development activities by, for & beyond the dancers community in order to achieve the objectives of Dance Union. The Outreach officer would have the opportunity to engage with various stakeholders from diverse fields and be part of the several components of this Project that aims towards a strong knit, healthy and sensitised society towards Dance & Culture.

Job Requirements – Graduate/Post Graduate degree in social sciences/social studies/social work or equivalent with 2-3 years of work experience in community-led projects in the development sector (comfortable with public engagement), deep interest in art and culture (background in dance would be ideal but not necessary!) – Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) – Comfortable using MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
