Khoj International Artists’ Association is seeking candidates for the position of Project Manager on a three-year multi-city art project. The Project Manager will be responsible, in consultation with the Khoj programmes team, for the administration of grants for artist projects. Strong organizational skills and clear and regular communications with various stakeholders, funders and grantees are essential. Candidates would additionally work on communications, administrative duties, etc as required by the project. Applications are invited from individuals who have had requisite experience in the fields of art administration, project management, and curation and are interested in contemporary art, activism and development work.

 

 

Organisation Profile

 

Khoj International Artists’ Association is a non-profit experimental contemporary art organisation, based in Khirkee Extension, New Delhi. It hosts a wide range of contemporary arts related public programming, including artist residencies, exhibitions, public lectures, seminars and workshops.

 

Job Description

 

The Project Manager will lead a three-year multi-city art project, working closely with the rest of the Khoj team and the various stakeholders involved. The project centres on seeding and supporting artistic projects that speak to issues of race and gender in peri-urban locations around India. This is a full-time position based in Delhi. The Project Manager will be required to travel to various sites around the country. The responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

  • Co-ordination and implementation of roundtable with various collaborators including artists, activists and academics
  • Implementation of open calls and selection processes for artistic proposals
  • Intellectual and organizational support for artistic projects around India
  • Monitoring and evaluation of artistic projects around India
  • Writing reports for funders
  • Overseeing the creation of an online archive of the project
  • Maintaining close communications with collaborators and funders
  • Managing communications on social media, events, website, etc

 

Qualifications and Required Skills

 

  • Professional Experience in the field of Arts Management/Curation/Project Management of at least 2 years
  • Strong communication, writing and editing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self driven with the ability to take initiative and solve problems
  • Proficiency in English and Hindi
  • Ability to deliver tasks within tight deadlines
  • Excellent skills in MS office
