Call for Entries

The next edition of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen will take place from 11 to 16 May 2017 and we are now inviting submissions!

Works of all genres and formats may be submitted. International productions may not exceed a length of 35 minutes (German productions must be under 45 minutes). For both national and international submissions, the production must have been completed after 1 January 2016.

Please note that international productions must be German festival premieres. You can find our full regulations and further information here.

The final deadline for international submissions is 1 February 2017 (date of receipt). There will be no extensions. There will be an early deadline for the International Competition on 15 October 2016. If you submit your film by this date, we will inform you about the early selection by the end of November 2016. No entry fees are charged.

New this year: Films can only be submitted via streaming link or preview DVD. Our online form must be filled in for every submission.

If you choose to send us a link please note that a separate direct streaming link is required for every film (no downloads). Link and password must be valid until 1 July 2017 and will be published in the Video Library of the Festival. Submit your film here.

All submitted works will be part of the Festival Video Library where they can be previewed by buyers, curators, festival programmers and other professionals.
