Call for Applications: The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Resident Fellows Program
Deadline: December 1, 2015

The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Resident Fellows Program offers academics, artists, and practitioners a serene setting conducive to focused, goal-oriented work, and the unparalleled opportunity to establish new connections with fellow residents from a wide array of backgrounds, disciplines and geographies. The Residency Program allows for focused work, uninterrupted by the professional and personal demands of daily life.  In addition to time for dedicated work on individual projects and for reflection during the day, building new connections and collegial interaction with other residents is a defining characteristic of the Bellagio experience.

During a residency, people of diverse expertise and backgrounds come together in a thought-provoking, creative, collegial environment that helps create change and have impact on a wide range of world issues.  The combination of quiet time for individual, focused work and connections with such a diverse community is unparalleled.

Residencies are open to university or think-thank based academics in all disciplines, literary artists, visual artists, and practitioners from a variety of fields, particularly those working on socially impactful endeavors.  The Center has a strong interest in proposals that align with the Rockefeller Foundation’s work to expand opportunities that enable more broadly shared prosperity and build resilience in people, places and institutions to prepare for, withstand, and emerge stronger from acute shocks and chronic stresses.  Often selected proposals also demonstrate relevance to the Foundation’s core issue areas: Advance Health, Revalue Ecosystems, Secure Livelihoods, and Transform Cities.

Academic Writing as well as Arts & Literary Arts residencies typically last four weeks, and spouses/life partners may accompany residents.  Practitioner residencies can last between two to four weeks.  Joint applications from co-authors are also welcome.

Applications for Academic Writing as well as Arts & Literary Arts residencies are due by December 1, 2015 for a possible residency between August 22, 2016 and December 8, 2016.  Applications from practitioners and for conferences are accepted on a rolling basis.
