Bio

My name is Abhay Pratap Singh, and I’m a visual art practitioner based between Santiniketan and Raigarh. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, where I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in the same discipline. Before Fine Arts, I had experience working with programming for many years.

A major shift in my practice happened (around the 3rd year of my bachelor’s degree) when I encountered the works of forensic architecture at the Indian Museum Kolkata, who were dealing with similar questions that I was thinking about. From this, I felt a need for a new visual language to deal with the questions of post-truth, knowledge and power

My works are interdisciplinary in nature. They utilise the knowledge of science, philosophy, history, and the Arts to understand the “truth” through relations of interconnectivity.

Currently, I’m experimenting with interactive, site-specific art as a way to investigate religious polarisation, social constructs, and historical narratives within the framework of public art.
