Alam Khorshed


Bio

Alam Khorshed graduated as a Mechanical Engineer with a degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka. He then worked for two of the world’s largest companies in their respective domains: GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals in Chittagong and Canadian Aviation Electronics in Montreal, Canada. After practising for nearly twenty years, he has given up engineering as a profession and returned to Bangladesh to embrace his other passion: the arts. He is now an engaged writer, translator, cultural activist and an arts organiser. After successfully running a unique socio-cultural organization named Bishaud Bangla in Chittagong for nine years, he opened a new arts space called Bistaar: Chittagong Arts Complex in December 2014 and has been working as its Founding Director ever since.
