Danushka Marasinghe (1985) was born and raised in Negombo, Sri Lanka. He studied at the Digital Film Academy, Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo and Faculty of Visual Arts, The University of Visual and Performing Arts Colombo (2007) and was part of the ‘Art need space’ Public art workshop at German Culture Center, Colombo in 2011. Marasinghe is primarily a video artist interested in exploring modern society, through socio-political issues, surveillance and the modern manifestations of privacy, or lack thereof.
