Deepti Mulgund

Bio
Deepti Mulgund is an art historian specializing in nineteenth and early-twentieth-century South Asia. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Art, Media and Performance, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi NCR, where she teaches art history and theory. Her research, and publications, engage with museum studies, institutional histories, art reception, consumption studies, urban studies, picnics, and public culture to produce critical social histories of art. Deepti holds a doctorate from the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (2019). She received the DAAD (German Academic Exchange) Bi- Nationally Supervised Doctoral Fellowship, during which she was affiliated to the Humboldt University Berlin (2015-16). Her postdoctoral fellowship was supported by the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz and was hosted by the Freie University in Berlin (2019- 20).
