Bio

Didar is a photographer, blogger, journalist and a culture and language activist. He is currently working as a Culture Development Officer at the Bulbulik Heritage Centre Gulmit, an initiative to preserve and promote the rich but endangered Wakhi/Pamirian heritage of folk music.Bulbulik Music School has become a significant folk music school of Pakistan, educating the mass to play their part in cultural preservation and promotion. As a photographer, he is documenting the elapsed but rich visual expressions of cultural practices, food, dance, music etc. of Wakhi‘s of Gojal valley, the remote mountain community living in Karakorum Pakistan. He along his friend is keenly giving his time to encourage online earning/virtual earning through various freelancing platforms as well entrepreneurship, as there are limited income opportunities available in the high mountains and the number of educated but unemployed youth have been rapidly increased therefore.
