Gauri Gill received a BFA in Applied Art at the Delhi College of Art, New Delhi, a BFA in Photography at the Parsons School of Design, New York and an MFA in Photography at Stanford University, California. Her work includes series such as ‘Notes from the Desert’, about life among nomadic and rural communities in Western Rajasthan, and ‘The Americans’, a diaristic account of Indian Immigrants in the United States. Her projects engage with questions of identity and becoming, community and the individual self. Her works have been exhibited in group exhibitions all over the world including the Whitechapel Gallery, London; Yale Art Gallery, New Haven; Musee Quai Branly, Paris and Newark Museum, New Jersey. She lives in New Delhi and is represented by Nature Morte Gallery.
