Gulmehar Dhillon
Bio
Gulmehar Dhillon is a Curator and Programs Manager at Khoj International Artists’ Association.
Her research engages with lens-based practices and approaches art as a site of resilience and dissent. She holds a Master’s in Art History (Critical Curatorial Studies) from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and a Bachelor’s in Journalism from Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi. She has previously worked with the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery and the Liu Lobby Gallery in Vancouver, and has contributed to ASAP | Art and Projects/Processes at the Serendipity Arts Festival.
Dhillon’s photographic work has been exhibited across India and internationally, including at Arthshila (Goa and Santiniketan), Offset Projects (Delhi), Printed Matter (New York), and Double Dummy Studio (Arles). She is a recipient of the Audain Foundation Graduate Fellowship at UBC and the Social Documentary Photography Grant (2021) from the MurthyNAYAK Foundation for her photobook Haal Mureeda Da. Her curatorial project, and when you return, we will talk again, was selected for the Capture Photography Festival 2024.
