Karma Wangchuk


Bio

Karma is presently Conservation Engineer, DCHS, Dept. of Culture, Bhutan. He has worked as Project Engineer for the construction of the 169 ft Buddha. Earlier, he was the Project Manager for Conservation of Semtokha Dzong, the oldest Dzong built in 1629 (2005-2008) and Project Engineer for Taktshang Goemba (Tiger’s Nest Monastery, 2003). Karma has participated in Smithsonian Folk Life Festival, Washington D.C. USA (2008), International Horticulture Exhibition, Chiang Mai, Thailand (2007) and The Living Religious and Cultural Traditions of Bhutan, Delhi and Kolkata (2001). He studied Civil Engineering in Bhutan and Conservation Training in Japan.
