Maryam Malmir
Bio
Maryam Malmir is a contemporary dancer and choreographer in Iran. born and raised in Tehran. Founder of Tarab, Persian Contemporary Performing Arts. She has got her Bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics, Tehran, 2007. Out of her love for art she started her learning process in the field of music and dance since 2003. She have got her Master’s in Industrial Engineering, System Management and Productivity in 2010. Due to her approach toward art she applied her education in art management. She have selected for ATSA, Arthink South Asia fellowship 2019-2020 to develop her project, Tarab, a contemporary performing arts organization for representing Iranian artworks to the world. She is a 2020, 2021 and 2022 ISPA fellow, International Society for the Performing Arts, global fellowship. As a choreographer and performer she have some experiences in contemporary performances in national and international festivals. Her performance project, HARDOVAN, was selected to present in Pitch New Works, Taiwan Congress 2020, online edition. Right now she is continuing work on her Performance projects and also curating MENA Series of Artists Connectivity online program, an episodic series devoted to addressing issues in the field of art in Middle East and North Africa.
