Milind Sohoni, is a Professor of Computer Science and Engg., at IIT Bombay and also Head, CTARA, an academic center of IIT Bombay devoted to development. He works in both theoretical computer science as well as in development theory and practice. In the area of development, he works on drinking water, and on higher education, esp. on aligning engineering with development. Milind is also an avid trekker and bird-watcher and spent several months in the Himalayas as well as the Sahyadris.
