Born in 1967 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Jalkhaajav Munkhtsetseg (who is known by the name Mugi) is one of Mongolia’s leading contemporary artists. Mugi has been working on art works that are inspired by the female anatomy with references to Mongolian concepts. Her work also reflects her childhood experiences, traditional Mongolian medicine, the wisdom of folk tales and legends, as well as the healing power of nature.
