Narpati Awangga (Oomleo)


Narpati Awangga, also known as Oomleo, was born and raised in Jakarta. After finishing high school in Bandung, West Java, he continued his education at the Faculty of Visual Arts at the Indonesian Institute of Arts (ISI) in Jogjakarta, from which he dropped out. Currently, he is actively involved in an artists’ collective called Ruangrupa in Jakarta.


Oomleo is widely known as a pixel artist. He also acts as the director of RURUradio, routinely travels to lead karaoke sessions, actively plays in a musical group called Goodnight Electric. Previously he has been a web and graphic designer, a non-expert worker in IT and multimedia fields, and a radio announcer for a private radio station. Oomleo has a hidden talent for cutting hair, occasionally takes a role as an MC, curates art exhibitions, or writes columns for publications.
