Prasad Lolayekar is the Director of Art and Culture, Government of India. He has over 30 years of experience in the field, and has organized many large scale events and programmes. His work with the Directorate of Art and Culture has involved, among other things, the preservation, promotion, and development of cultural traditions through the state’s network of institutions, libraries, and cultural activities. Prasad has undertaken several social and educational initiatives outside of his work with the government, and is also a poet, playwright, songwriter, theatre and film actor, and director.
