Ruchira Das decided to quit her Chartered Accountancy career and subsequently followed her heart to work in the arts. In the last 15 years she has worked as an arts administrator with several organisations across India. During the years that Ruchira homeschooled her two daughters, an engagement with the arts was an integral part of their lives. She believes that intense aesthetic experiences are imperative for a child to grow into a sensitive, imaginative, and creative person. The desire to extend such experiences to children beyond her home was the genesis of Think Arts, which she founded. In the first year, Think Arts presented workshops and performances by several artists and recently produced Elements, an experiential exhibition for children.
