Satyajit Dave
Bio
Based in Gandhinagar, Satyajit Dave is an Independent Curator and Art Consultant working in the Visual Arts sector. His recent curatorial project titled ‘The Print: Matter in Matrix’ for Latitude 28 opened at the Shridharani Gallery at the Triveni Kala Sangam in New Delhi. The exhibition explored printmaking in India across five sections, Academic Practice, The Book, Digital and Alternative Printing, Reproductions, and 3-D Printing through the works of over 70 artists across these sections. He has worked with various non profits like Chhaap Foundation for Printmaking in Baroda, and CONA Foundation Mumbai and was a part of the PEERS 2016 residency at KHOJ in New Delhi as the Critic- In-Residence.
With an interest in the Arts ranging from Critical Theory and Curatorial Frameworks on one hand to the History of Patronage, and Fakes and Forgeries on the other, his academic interests lay in Art, Design, Architecture interstices. Dave has developed and taught a module on “Curating Art, Design, and Architecture” at PiCA in Mumbai. He is a visiting faculty at Mumbai University, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, National Institute of Fashion Technology- NIFT Mumbai, Amity University Mumbai on subjects such as Art, Design and Architecture History; Aesthetics, Technology and Urban Ecology; Visual Culture Analysis; Critical Theory; Curation amongst the many diverse subjects.
He is currently a Full Time Faculty at NIFT Gandhinagar mentoring the students of the Master’s of Design Department on subjects like Design and Cultural Philosophy, Exhibition Design and Curation, Visual Culture Analysis, Design Research Methodology, Trends Research and Forecasting, etc
