Kornhausforum
Bio
The Kornhausforum Bern has a rich tradition of “classical” exhibitions in the fields of photography, design, architecture and urban development. Since the reorientation under the new direction of Nicolas Kerksieck starting in 2021, the Kornhausforum increasingly shows exhibitions and projects on the one hand on the thematic area of human digitality (see exhibition “Hyperscapes virtual landscape as a place of longing” and on the other hand purely digital projects in the virtual exhibition platform “Echo Space”. This platform offers the curation as well as the exhibitors a freely programmable platform to present experimental, web-based works.
Centrally located in Bern’s city center, the Kornhausforum Bern has been a public exhibition and meeting place for cultural professionals and enthusiasts since 1998. In this way, we create a platform for an exchange on socially relevant topics in the fields of architecture, design and photography. The Kornhausforum, with 30,000 visitors annually, is a place of public participation; the exhibitions and forums are accessible to a broad public, both physically and digitally, free of charge. The social relevance and urgency of the exhibition themes and forums, as well as their qualitative elaboration and implementation, is the focus of our activities and thus forms part of the public discourse on knowledge: We want to inspire new thinking and wonder.
