Vikram Soni
Bio
Vikram Soni is a professor of Physics at the Centre for Theoretical Physics, Jamia Millia Islamia and formerly at the National Physical Laboratory in New Delhi, India. He has worked at the Institut du Physique Nuclaire at the University of Paris in Orsay, mainly in High Energy Physics and Astrophysics, and made seminal contributions in our understanding of phenomena ranging from the nucleon to neutron stars and from the matter-antimatter puzzle to evolutionary networks. Alongside, seeing the tragic shrinking of India’s rich jungle wilderness, he has always worked quietly for conservation, the river Yamuna in Delhi and campaigned for protecting forest areas in urban spaces very successfully.
