Visual Arts Collective Trust (Maara) is a media and arts collective in Bengaluru, founded in 2008. Diverse, playful and intersectional in nature, they employ different lenses of caste, labour, gender and culture in curation, production, and research. Attentive to structural violence and inequality around us, the collective’s work is centred around freedom of expression through language, form, subjectivity and oral histories. The group is committed to focussing on practice and process with a strong culture of dialogue and mutual sharing of knowledge with all participants and collaborators.
