Work in Progress
1
This started as an observation during my cab ride from the airport to Khoj. I became curious about how honking functioned as a way to claim space. It wasn’t just noise but a tool to assert presence, to mark territory without any physical boundary. This led me to think about how space can be formed and negotiated through gestures and behavior, and how access can be subtly granted or denied. The process remains open as I continue to explore how space can exist without walls, yet still be controlled.

This began as a reaction to something I experienced in Old Delhi. The noise coming from the amplifiers was not just loud. What I heard in that speech did not feel normal, yet the people around me seemed unbothered. It made me think about how people grow used to certain intensities, how we become conditioned to environments that may seem chaotic or disturbing to an outsider. I am still trying to respond to that moment and reflect on how we absorb or resist the spaces we inhabit.
Alongside these, I created a mind map documenting my six weeks at the residency. It captures passing thoughts, recurring questions, and shifts in focus. offering a glimpse into how the experience unfolded over time.
