Radical Housing and Socially-Engaged Art

The April session of The Feminist Parlour focused on Principles of Feminist Making with facilitators Ruchika Negi and Khushi Bano. The 2 hour long discussion explored how a creative process is made feminist — is it in the questions we ask, the materials we use, the collaborators we gather, or the ways in which we share and hold space?

Through the screening of two films — Kya Hai Yeh Samjhauta and My Other Self is Plastic — the session opened up the behind-the-scenes terrains that shaped their form, content, and politics. What principles guided their making, and what forms emerged from a feminist enquiry?
