Александр Егоров (Alexander Yegorov)
Alexander Yegorov is a Russian visual artist based in Moscow. In his practice, he utilizes photography and digital technologies to explore contemporary visual culture. His work investigates perceptions of reality focusing on the themes of information saturation, overconsumption, aesthetics of imperfection and the nature of human connection as seen through shared experiences.
Born in 1987 in Moscow, graduated from the Moscow State University of Printing Arts in 2010 and from the British Higher School of Art and Design (Faculty of Photography) in 2012. Studied at Joseph Backstein Institute of Contemporary Art, completing the New Artistic Strategies course from 2019 to 2020.
Yegorov’s works are included in the permanent collection of the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts (KMoPA, Japan), where he participated in the Young Portfolio Acquisitions program in 2018 and 2021. In 2021, he was one of seven Russian artists selected for the international “Lady Dior As Seen By” project hosted by the Ruarts foundation. His contribution, “Lady in the Jungle,” was included in the House of Dior collection. In 2022, Yegorov participated in the “Collab” program at the V-A-C Foundation. In 2024, he was awarded the “Irinox Save the Food Award” at the MIA Fair Milano for his project “Welcome to Yesterday,” which explores the theme of communal meals.
