Anjana is a visual artist, currently dividing her time between Mumbai and Bangalore. After her bachelors degree in Psychology, she studied and worked in the field of animation. Subsequently, she graduated from The Academy of Fine Arts and Crafts, Rachana Sansad, with a major in sculpture. Post college in 2011, she was  part of The Last Ship residency programme in Mumbai. Following this, she was invited as an artist in residence by the Stiftung Futur Foundation, Switzerland, which culminated in a solo exhibition. Since then, she has spent a month in the rural regions of Partapur, Rajasthan, where she created a site specific installation for a Sandarbh International Artists Association’s residency. This year, she had received the Inlaks Fine Art Award, has realized a solo project titled Phantasmagoria and has been part of the Creative India Public Art Intensive. She is currently working towards a solo project at 1 Shantiroad.

Her work unfolds as an amalgamation of  drawings, sculpture and video, all aimed at expressing a visual narrative of the human relationship with desire . Through her work, she seeks to create a fictional universe that is rooted in the real world. The experiment and task is to create an assemblage charting the emotional and psychological journey that unites human experience and expression.
