Anna Sireiliu Charenamei

Anna Sireiliu Charenamei is a researcher, writer who likes to photograph. She is currently a PhD candidate in Visual Studies at the School of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU. Her fields of interest lie in visual anthropology, popular photographic practices, indigenous movements and self-representation. Her current research focuses on examining contemporary “tribal” Naga selfhood and representation through wedding photographs. Sireiliu is a founding member of the Young Tribal Women’s Network, a community-driven initiative created in response to the increasing displacement of people in Manipur. She is also part of Aama Collective, an all women’s artist collective.
