Bio

Bani Gill is a PhD Fellow at the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional
Studies, University of Copenhagen. Her doctoral research is positioned as an
ethnographic inquiry into migration within the Global South, and focuses on
contemporary migration from the African continent to India. Her research
interests include migration, mobility and refugee flows, transnationalism,
urbanism, gender and sexuality, war, conflict and transitional justice.
She has previously worked as a freelance researcher for Zubaan, Aman Trust,
WISCOMP and as Research Associate with the Refugee Law Project, Uganda,
and the South Asia Forum for Human Rights, India. She is currently on the editorial
board of Refugee Review, an open- access, peer-reviewed journal of the
Emerging Scholars and Practitioners on Migration Issues (ESPMI) Network.
