Elena is an artist who has been based between Bangalore and the Netherlands for the last several years. Originally from a German- Indian background, Elena has a Bachelor in Fashion Design from the school of Arts in Utrecht in 2008. Following this, her work began to leave the frame of the body toward a narrative space. After receiving a second degree, a Masters in Contextual Design from the Design Academy in Eindhoven in 2012, she moved back to Bangalore where her Studio is currently established. Her sculptures/objects are created from a multitude of materials, anything from flowers to metal. She is most interested in the difference between organic and artificial man made material. By deconstructing existing artifacts and materials, she brings the poetry of the materials to life.
