Praveen Maripelly is an interdisciplinary artist. who is pursuing Ph.D. in Performance Studies (Practice as Research)  at University of California-Davis, USA. Recently graduated in Master of Fine Arts in 4D at University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Visual Arts (Printmaking)from the Faculty of Fine Arts of M.S University of Baroda, India. Also, he has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Painting) obtained from P. S. Telugu University in Hyderabad, India. He also received Yoga Teacher training Certificate, Yoganiketan, Vadodara, India (2010-11). In his social art projects, participants actively engage and contribute creatively to connect across cultures and engage in dialogue about real-world problems to connect rural, urban, and global audiences and build a robust community for positive social change. His social performances examine the complex relationship between the performer, active participants, and viewing participants through daily activities like drinking chai, doing yoga, reading, storytelling, walking, drawing, foodways, etc. He is a founder of social art project- Prayogillu; An Interdisciplinary (www.prayogillu.org) Place, and SN Foundation (www.108snteam.org).
