Nidhi Batra
Bio
Founder – Sehreeti Developmental Practices Foundation
Nidhi Batra is a development practitioner with over 17 years of experience, trained as an architect, and environmental urban designer. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in environmental law and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Urban Commons and the act of communing.
She is the Founder of Sehreeti Developmental Practices Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that works on the principle of collaborative and collective practice, with community engagement and sustainable development as its core pillars.
With the motto of connecting people to their environs – natural, built, and cultural, Sehreeti works across four pillars i) Awareness, outreach, and advocacy ii) Design Interventions and Eco-restoration works iii) Research and dissemination, and iv) Green Skills development and training
She also works as a Skills Specialist for Sustainable Jobs at The World Bank, for projects in India and Maldives on Sustainable Fisheries. She has been consulting World Bank since 2012 on various projects including Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan for India and the Water and Sanitation Program.
Nidhi is also the Regional Head for Placemaking India, an affiliate of PlacemakingX advocating inclusive and vibrant public places. She is one of the 50 social entrepreneurs, awarded the WomenLead India Fellowship by Vital Voices and Reliance Foundation.
Nidhi is a visiting faculty in architectural colleges in Delhi-NCR.
