ritwik banerji is an improviser and digital media artist based in chicago. his work focuses on improvisation in a wide variety of contexts, from compositions intended for improvised exploration to development of software-based artificial musical agents which model sympathetic, but independent, free improvisatory behavior. he will begin his studies in ethnomusicology at the university of california at berkeley in the fall.
