Sandhya Kumar works as an independent filmmaker and editor in New Delhi. Rooted in non-fiction, her documentary and experimental short films are informed by a desire to make visible the poetry of everyday life. She holds an MFA in Film from San Francisco Art Institute, California, and an MA in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Her works have been screened at SF MOMA; Pacific Film Archive, Berkeley; The 3rd I South Asian Film Festival, San Francisco; Delhi Fringe Festival, SomArts Gallery, San Francisco, and the Red Poppy Art House, San Francisco.
