Inside / Outside
INSIDE / OUTSIDE was an interactive digital art project that strove to dissolve the boundaries between the inside and the outside by creatively opening up channels of access between the two domains, using fragments of digitally captured life such as video imagery and sound.
About this programme
INSIDE / OUTSIDE was an interactive digital art project founded by artists Karen D Thorton (Canada) and Surajit Sarkar (Delhi). Central to this artwork was the idea of bringing the inside to the outside and/or the outside to the outside. This was achieved throughout this work by using fragments of digitally captured life. INSIDE/OUTSIDE drew from video imagery and sound and combined them in ways that brought about unexpected visions into the gallery and the art form.
Karen D Thornton was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts for her work in India.
