Absence of Keys
In this piece I used the idea of five elements as they are represented in prayer flags. These are fire, air, water, earth and iron. Tyres represent the Buddhist conception of the Wheel of Life, but here there is no movement , as the wheel is wrapped, locked and kept static in one place. The absence of keys suggests that there is no way of unlocking the wheel so it can be in motion again. Thus, if even one element is imbalanced, the whole five elements would not work. Only one key is provided for a single lock; this key represents one whole and inner power. I think that the Tibetan spirit has an inner power to open the lock.
