The aim was to move Chaudhuri Bari one inch forward. Seven cycle-rickshaws were hired from the street in front of the house. Each rickshaw was attached by a chain to one of the pillars in the front of the house. The rickshaw­-pullers were instructed to attempt to pull the house forward. The action ended either when this was achieved or when 30 minutes had passed.
