Baaraan Ijlal, a self-taught artist based in Delhi (India) has been interested in exploring anonymity in her practice as essential to individual liberty. She seeks to enable listening and creating a space for a growing parallel archive of unacknowledged stories. She creates work through direct interaction with individuals and communities. Her themes include evolution, migration, body, hybridity, memory and alienation. She paints and creates installations of sound, video, light and embroidery.
