Bio

Daniela Brugger (she/her) is an artist, whose practise is based on listening and exchange, and involves artistic production, collaboration, and art education. She showcases her work in various forms like performances, installations, videos, text, drawings, workshops, and audio works.

She lives and works in Basel, Switzerland where she also teaches at the School of Design. She holds a BA in Art Education, a MA in Fine Arts, and a CAS in Organisational Development, and studied in Brussels, Budapest, Zurich, and Basel. Daniela Brugger was part of international residencies and exhibitions, so far on the African and European continent. Over the years, she has initiated several projects and initiatives, like Who writes his_tory? – a collaborative writing project, focusing on feminist and artistic content on Wikipedia.

At a time when in the western world technologies are still seen as the solution to the current crises, she is interested in the underlying structures of technologies and in places where people organise and engage collectively. How can knowledge be shared; how can the fragility of technologies be used as a self-empowering tool?
