The Open Studio days featured on-going projects by our resident artist Daniela Brugger; artist duos Puneet Jain and Yesica Duarte, and Gaurav Singh Nijjer and Manjari Kaul. Through their respective works, the artists explore reflections on the hidden and fragile dimensions of digital technology, interactive XR performances that question normative embodiment, and immersive experiences on human-machine voices. Over the course of three days, residents presented a series of performances showcasing their unique engagements with the themes of the residency.

On December 11, from 5:30-6:30 pm, the British Council launched their report, Arts and Technologies in India: Reimagining the Future at Khoj. The report foregrounds emerging Indian artists who are reshaping the relationship between advanced technologies and creative practices. The launch included a panel discussion featuring⁠ ⁠Pooja Sood, Director, Khoj International Artists’ Association, ⁠Myna Mukherjee, Director, Engendered, and⁠ ⁠Natasha Singh, New Media Artist. The panel was moderated by Ruchira Das, Director – Arts, British Council, India.

On December 12, Dr. Gowdham Prabhakar facilitated a workshop on Human-Computer Interaction at HIVE. This session delved into cutting-edge interaction design, and offered participants a hands-on experience with new interfaces and technologies.

BODIES-MACHINES-PUBLICS is a two-year-long collaborative initiative between NAVE (Chile), Khoj International Artists’ Association (India), Immersive Arts Space/ZHdK (Zurich, Switzerland), and Kornhausforum (Bern, Switzerland), and is supported by the Swiss Art Council Pro Helvetia.
