Mithun Das is a visual art practitioner, presently based out of Vadodara, India. He received Bachelor’s degree in Painting from the Indian College of Art and Craftsmanship (2011), Kolkata and pursued Post Graduation in Kala Bhavan, VisvaBharati University, India (2014). As a practicing artist he has been part of several residency programmes at Khoj (Khoj Peers), New Delhi(2015); Space Studio, Baorda (2017) and Space118, Mumbai (2020) among others. He has lately worked on a project as part of Five Million Incidents, Goethe-Institut, Kolkata (2020). His other important participations include Art Bengal Now at Dhoomimal Art Centre, New Delhi (2020); Knowing atThe Ply Gallery, London; Mindful Memories at DhiArtspace, Hyderabad; Bad Smell, Good Smell at Studio 21, Kolkata; CIMA Awards the Kolkata Art Festival (2017), Soil Mind (two-man show), London (2013) and Affordable Art Fair, London (2012). He was awarded the Inlaks Fine Arts Award by InlaksShivdasani Foundation, Mumbai (2016).
