Wrote graphic novel, Corridor, as a part of a fellowship awarded by the MacArthur Foundation, Chicago.
Published By Penguin in India and UK and Vertige, France.
Working on second graphic novel, Barn Owl’s Wondrous Capers. The project is funded by a fellowship received from the Indian Foundation of the Arts, Bangalore. 2000-2002(May). To be published by penguin in India, UK and Denoel in France
Awarded the Akademie Schloss Solitude residency in Stuttgart, 2006-2007
Awarded an Egide bursary to live and write in Paris by the French Cultural Centre. 2004-2005
Received a seed grant for six months from the SARAI project of Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, New Delhi, to research and write a graphic novel based in New Delhi. (October2001-March2002)
Awarded the Charles Wallace Trust scholarship to study Image and communication at the Goldsmiths College, University of London. (2002-2003)
Simultaneously awarded the Asia Fellowship programme, for a nine-month research project to study the underground culture of Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Badung.(2002) Had to decline the offer because of The CWT scholarship.
Illustrated and wrote a series for Bombay based- Gentleman magazine, “Road to Harappa”. These are one-page comic strips based on the experiences of a documentary filmmaker, travelling through India. Dec 2000-Oct 2001

Used comics as a potential tool for development communication, have written a four page comics on the experiences of a filmmaker shooting a documentary on how newly born girls are killed in North Bihar. Published in New Delhi based, The Little Magazine. Jan-Feb 2001

Films
Written and directed, 20minute clay-animation, “ Hakim Tartoosi’s potency oil”. November 2001 Awarded at the 1001 Digital Film festival, 2004, First prize Mocha awards, Bombay, 2006
Completed a trilogy on patriarchy and female infanticide, “God’s left hand”. A film shot over a period of one year in the interiors of Bihar and Tamil Nadu, exploring the various factors that contribute to female infanticide including patriarchal practices, witchcraft, religion, caste system, economics etc. The film was recently screened at the Ethno film festival, Berlin, also screened at competition section of the Mumbai international film Festival 2002.
Completed in 1999
Debut film, “12 years after…” on the Bhopal Gas tragedy was nominated for The Television Network Award in Hong Kong. The story of Bhopal is told by three gas affected poets and a forensic surgeon, Dr Sathpathy, who performed 200 autopsies the night after the tragedy and himself got affected by the MIC gas trapped in the victims’ lungs. Completed in 1997
Made several short films including Fish-eaters- a farce on the expatriate Bengali community in Delhi, for Television International.
Directed and a full-length fiction film on the fantasies of a twelve-year-old boy in Chronicles of Dodo.
Worked as a producer in Television International and HomeTV.
Worked as freelance video editor for ETTV and Centre-stage films.
