Bio

Tran Ngoc Anh is a Vietnamese sculpture artist. He began his formal training at the Hue College of Arts, Vietnam, where in 1993 he received his BFA with Honours for his research on the sculptural practices of the Cotu tribe. Since then, he has gone on to receive additional degrees in the fields of science, philosophy, and teaching. In 2010, Ngoc Anh relocated to Texas, where he received his MFA in Sculpture from Texas A&M University, Commerce. He has held several teaching and administrative positions over the years at two universities in Thailand and Vietnam. He is currently a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.

 

He has displayed his work at numerous exhibitions and shows across the world including the International Stone Artist Workshops in Saigon (2007), Phutho Province (2009), Con Son Island (2010) in Vietnam, the International Artists’ Workshop at KHOJ, New Delhi (2006), the 9th International Shoebox Sculpture Traveling Exhibition in Hawaii and around the US (2006), International Arts Workshops in Zambia, Africa (2004) and Lijiang, China (2003), and the International Burragorang Workshop in NSW Australia, among others. He has also been the recipient of several awards, grants, and accolades for his work at these exhibitions as well as for his research.
