The Indian artists, international artists, and the Khoj Kolkata Core Group all seemed to be a big family for
me, this was so important. I did my work burning my candle at both ends. I studied some Bengali, visited some local people and temples, and prayed to Kali during the Festival of Lights. I especially remember the wild lake at Chaudhuri Bari, where no one seemed to know what lay beneath. Here, on the night of the Diwali when there were festivities, I floated some giant paper lotus lamps that I had made during the workshop and offered a prayer, as we do in our culture.

I also made some other sculptural objects and installation works inspired by my time spent at Artspace and at Chaudhuri Bari. My time there will be archived among the good things in my memory forever.
